The huge news in all things web this week is Alphabet! Google co-founder Larry Page announced the creation of the new parent company to represent the collection of all the other companies Google has founded since its inception. Google will be the largest of the companies under the Alphabet umbrella—it is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alphabet. All of Google’s stock will automatically convert to shares in the Alphabet holding company (though the stock’s name will remain unchanged).
Alphabet.com is still owned by BMW, and Google hasn’t yet been able to take over all the Alphabet social accounts. But it looks like this could be the lucky day for a “Dad, husband, and self-proclaimed geek” out in Ohio. Is Chris Andrikanich, who has been using the @alphabet handle on Twitter since 2007, well on his way to becoming an instant millionaire?
We’re sure there is more to come, stay tuned.
